Venetian mirror has been made for over 1,500 years, and production has been concentrated on the Venetian island of Murano since the 13th century. Today Murano is known for its art glass, but it has a long history of innovations in glass making in addition to its artistic fame—and was Europe's first major glass making center. During the 15th century, Murano glass makers created cristallo—which was almost transparent and considered the finest glass in the world. Murano glass makers also developed a white-colored glass (milk glass called white) that looked like porcelain. They later became Europe's finest makers of mirrors.
This beautiful circular mirror is inspired by the classic Venetian style and modern design, making it a true classic.Each piece of glass is carefully beveled, and the frame is reinforced by additional hand cuts and raised circles that are etched into the glass.This mirror has been slightly aged to look like a real antique mirror and will be a great addition to all styles of interiors.
